Loathes

  • Orgran Chocolate Mousse. Super bland. The texture was nice and fluffy, and it wasn’t overly sweet, but I couldn’t taste any chocolate. I added some cacao and not much changed except for the colour of the mix. Chocolate chips helped slightly. Back to the drawing board with homemade mixtures I go.
    (later note: it tasted better the more days it went on left in the fridge, the fluffiness would deflate and you were left with a richer chocolate taste)

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Pancakes

I always eat pancakes when I am home, so much that my brother thinks that it is the only thing I have for breakfast. It’s nice to have something different instead of my usual overnight oats during the week. Usually on a Sunday I’ll end doing some school work, but ideally I end up reading a book in my room.

This recipe has taken me a while to perfect. Originally I used a lot more oats, but I found it made the pancakes too dense and heavy, so I submitted some for brown rice flour instead. You can easily use white rice flour, but brown gives a better nutritional value. It was also the first one I found on the shelf and I’ve kind of stuck with it ever since.
